friendship bracelets: bff mini heart

Heart

BEFORE YOU BEGIN know how to make a Right Hand Double Knot and a Left Hand Double Knot.

1. Pick 2 different colors for this pattern. You will use 2 strands of each color you choose. This instruction uses 2 strands of pink & 2 strands of white.

2. Align string, fold in half, and tie knot 1/2 from fold forming a loop.

3. Attach your string to something using a safety pin or attach to a clipboard.

4. Separate strings from 1 to 8. Use the same color for strings 1, 3, 5 & 7 (pink) & 2, 4, 6 & 8 (white). This will align the colors of your bracelet pattern.

5. To begin, take string #4 (white) and make a left hand double knot with string #3 (pink). String #4 (white) will now become string #3.

6. Take string #6 (white) and make 2 left hand double knots. One each, on string #5 (pink) and one on string #4 (pink). String #6 (white) will now become string #4.

7. Now take string #7 (pink) and make a right hand double knot with string #8 (white). String #7 (pink) will now become string #8.

8. Take string #6 (pink) and make 2 right hand double knots. One each, on string #7 (white) and one on string #8 (pink). String #6 (pink) will now become string #8.

9. Use string #5 (pink) and make 3 right hand double knots. On each, on string #6 (white), string #7 (pink) & string #8 (pink). String #5 (pink) will now become string #8.

11. Start again with new string #1 (now white) and make 6 right hand double knots. One each, on string #2 (white), string #3 (white), string #4 (white), string #5 (pink), string #6 (pink) & string #7 (pink). String #1 (white) will now become string #7.

12. Again use your new string #1 (white) and make 4 right hand double knots. One each, on string #2 (white), string #3 (white), string #4 (pink) & string #5 (pink). String #1 (white) will now become string #5.

13. Take string #1 (white) and make 2 right hand double knots. One each, on string #2 (white) & one on string #3 (pink). String #1 (white) will now become string #3.

14. At this point strings 1, 3, 5 & 7 should all be white. Strings 2, 4, 6 & 8 should all be pink. This is opposite of how you started.

15. Take string #4 (pink) and make a left hand double knot with string #3 (white). String #4 (pink) will now become string #3.

16. Take string #6 (pink) and make 2 left hand double knots. One each, on string #5 (white) and one on string #4 (white). String #6 (pink) will now become string #4.

24. Repeat steps 5 - 23 from above to continue your pattern until your bracelet is long enough to fit your wrist.

25. Once you bracelet is long enough to fit your wrist take strings 1-3 in your left hand and strings 6-8 in your right hand and braid with the remaining 2 center strings.

26. Take the braided strings and tie two basic knots at the end of your friendship bracelet.

27. Unpin or unclip your friendship bracelet and cut off the excess braided section. Your friendship bracelet is ready to wear or share with your best friend or mom.
