JC and Justin watched as Libby and Val danced with Chris and Joey. They had to occasionally laugh at Chris and Joey's antics while dancing with the two girls.

JC turned and looked at Justin suddenly, asking him seriously, "You really like her don't you?"

Justin looked back at him in confusion. "Who?"

"Valerie, the girl you've been staring at all night."

"I haven't been staring at her all night," JC gave him a "get real" look, "Ok, so maybe I have been just a little, but I barely know her man."

"But you still think she's hott?"

"Well, yeah. I mean, c'mon C, have you actually looked at the girl? She's got "hott" written all over her."
JC laughed. "I knew it! You like her, and you've got it bad this time!"

"Who does he like?" Chris asked as he sat down next to JC, just returning from the dance floor.

"Libby's cousin."

"Valerie?"

JC hit popped him the back of the head. "Do you know any other cousins of Lib's?"

"I do not like Valerie!" Justin yelled so the other 2 would hear him..

"I do not like Valerie!" Val heard Justin yell, apparently to JC and Chris who sat across from him, as she approached their table.

"Well, I don't like you either then," She replied sarcastically.

All 3 young men's heads shot up, surprised to see Valerie standing next to the back of Justin's seat.

"I didn't mean it that way... I just..." Justin started to explain.

Valerie sat down next to Chris, and looked him straight in the eye. He couldn't tell if she was really being serious or just trying to throw him off, until she said, "Oh, just pretend that you don't got anything against us small town girls."

Chris got up from his seat. "Well, I'm gonna get back on the dance floor. You gonna join me, C?" he asked the laughing JC.

"No," he answered bluntly, too amused by the hole Justin had dug himself into to leave now.

"Of course you are!" Chris pulled him out of his seat, and forced him onto the dance floor.

Justin and Valerie laughed as they heard him yelling at Chris that he didn't want to dance right now.

Justin turned back to face Valerie, and regained seriousness. "I really didn't mean that I don't like you, Val."

"I know, I'm sure JC and Chris were pressuring you. Justin seemed to really care about what she had to say and very few guys she knew would lie about something for you to say that. You don't have to apologize," Valerie told him.

What she said had intrigued Justin. Most girls wouldn't have let him apologize first before blowing up at him if they had heard him say he didn't like them. He was already to begin to tell she wasn't like most girls. Valerie already seemed perfect in his eyes, and he was the picky one out of the four of them when it came to girls. He knew you can't improve perfection, but he an idea she would do just that if he gave her the time to do so. He scooted a few seats over to sit next to her. "So why are you in Orlando?" he asked her.

"I definitely needed a vacation," she paused as they both laughed, "but I actually came down here to record a demo cd."

"You're gonna become a singer?"

Valerie smiled at his curiosity, it made her feel special for him to want to know things about her. "Hopefully, if it all goes right."

"You'll go far, don't worry."

Valerie looked a him curiously. "You've never even heard me sing, how would you know?"

Justin laughed at her doubt. "When you talk, your voice is smooth and soothing. Any talking voice like that comes with a hell of a singing voice," he paused to look into her eyes, "but the way I can really tell that you'll go far is by the confidence you seem to have in yourself. Anyone with that amount of confidence will succeed, just like you're going to."

She blushed. He had a gift for making people feel special. Hey there. "Thanks, Justin."

"For what?"

"For just being who you are."

He laughed, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "I guess I can live with that." Valerie laughed, too. She rested her head on his shoulder, and closed her eyes, yawning. "Hey, don't get too comfortable there. I might need that shoulder later on in life."

Valerie smiled at his playfulness. "Oh, too late boy. You're never getting it back now."

Justin rested his cheek against her forehead, smiling to himself. "I guess not."

Valerie had been talking to Justin for over a half an hour when she felt a pair of sweaty hands rest upon her shoulders. Surprised by the sudden added weight to her shoulders, Valerie jumped up out of her seat. She turned around to find JC laughing at her jumpiness.

"Jesus, Chasez! What're you trying to do, put me to an early death?" she yelled at the older man.

"Well, I was just gonna ask you to dance, but if that's what you really want..." JC answered with a smirk.

Val rolled her eyes. "Nah, I think I'll take you up on the offer instead. But you're not getting me to do that!" Valerie pointed to where Libby and Joey were out on the dance floor grinding.

JC shook his head when he saw what she meant. "Don't worry, I'm not that type of dancer."

Valerie nodded, and followed him out to a clear spot next to Chris, Libby, and Joey out on the dance floor.

Libby smiled at her younger cousin when she noticed her return to the dance floor. "Having a good time?" she asked her.

"Yeah, until JC showed up," Valerie answered in a joking manner.

"Hey!" JC yelled offensively.

"I'm just kidding, damn." She ruffled his hair playfully. He pulled his head away from her reach and stuck his tongue out at her, causing them both to laugh out loud.

Libby turned to Joey, and asked him, "Can you believe she just met you guys? I swear, she could easily pass for each one of yours younger sister or something."

Joey chuckled. "She sure didn't take long to find herself on Justin's good side."

"That boy is going to be heartbroken when she leaves. They'll both be inseparable until then, and I can guarantee it."

"I wouldn't be surprised if they hooked up in the meantime either."

Libby shook her head. "She has a boyfriend back in Mississippi."

"It's not gonna be one of his happier days when he finds that out."

Libby nodded in agreement. "I just hope she tells him before he tries to make a move or anything, because I'd hate to be around him that day if she doesn't." Libby sat with JC and Joey as they watched the other three out on the dance floor.

"Where did they get their sudden burst of energy?" Joey asked, too tired to even think of going back out on the dance floor.

"Considering Chris is a sudden burst of energy period, and Justin and Val are 14, go figure." JC said, resting his head in his folded arms.

Libby stretched her back and arms, yawning. "Damn, I'm so tired. Someone got a watch?" JC threw her hers, not bothering to lift his head from his arms. Libby caught it in mid air and looked at it's face. "Holy shit! It's almost 5!"

"In the morning?" Joey asked.

"No dipshit, we're going back in time and now it's 5 in the evening. Of course in the morning!"

"Hostile, Lib," Valerie commented when her and Justin and Chris got back to the table, hearing Libby's previous statement towards Joey.

"Don't push it, Val. It's 5 in the morning and I'm liable to do anything on this much lack of sleep!"

Valerie threw her hands up in the air. "I'm backing off, geez!"

"Can we go home now?" JC whined as he finally lifted up his head to look up at everyone.

"Yes, Josh, we're leaving!" Libby yelled at him.

Joey and Libby got of their seats and followed after the other 3 as JC wearily pulled himself from his seat and lagged behind. As they made their way out of the exit, Joey remembered something.

"Hey, doesn't the club usually close at 3?" he asked the others.

"Does it really matter right now, Joe?" JC asked, his head pounding from their long night.

"Just something to wonder about."

"Wonder about it in silence then."

Seven hours later Valerie woke up in her bed. She looked up at the clock. Noon. Why couldn't have God let me sleep for just 2 more hours? she thought to herself. She threw off her covers, and pulled herself out of bed. She stumbled into the bathroom to take a quick shower and change. After doing so she went into the kitchen expecting to find Libby, but she was no where in sight.

She shrugged and opened up the refrigerator looking for something to make for breakfast. She searched through the cupboards, and found only a box of pop tarts. Taking 2 from the box, she sat down at the kitchen table and began to eat her breakfast. Soon after she was finished the phone began to ring, and she jumped up to get it.

"Hello?" she asked the person on the other line.

"Val? Hey, this is Justin!" he greeted her.

"Hey boy, what's up?"

"Me and JC are gonna head to the beach today since everyone else is at work. You wanna come with?"

"Yeah, sure. Lib is probably at school anyway."

"Cool! See you in about a half an hour at the entrance, girly!"

"Ok, see you! Bye!" Valerie hung up Libby's phone and ran back into her room to change into her new bikini. When she was done she wrote Libby a note incase her classes ended before she got back. She made sure the note was insight from the front door, and then left for the beach.
