James Patterson’s Private Series

The books from the Private series that I won from twitter came today. It does not include the new book, Private L.A. Nonetheless, I am so excited because I love James Patterson books. I have not read the books yet but can’t wait to start it. I need to finish the book, Enders, that I’m reading now and then finish 11th Hour which I started in November but never finished. Once these are done I will get started on these books and post about each book that I read starting with Enders.

James Patterson’s Private Series

I am a huge fan of James Patterson. I love reading his books especially the Women’s Murder Club series and Alex Cross series. He has a series called Private. I bought the first book in the series but have yet to read it. Today the sixth book in the series comes out. It is called Private L.A.

For the past week James Patterson had a contest on Twitter where you can enter to win the whole Private Series of books. There was only three winners who will win the whole set of books. What the contest required was retweeting five clues.

James Patterson’s first tweet was on February 3 and he said “RT all 5 clues for a chance to win the Private series 3 winners, US +CN only. I’ll tweet next clue’s location tomorrow.” There was a clue in this tweet that said “For the past nine months, the Harlow family had been living in Vietnam, where they had been making a film, Saigon Falls, an epic and tragic story of love and intrigue that unfolds in the last doomed years of the American war. #FindTheHarlows” you had to RT this tweet.

The next day, February 4, James Patterson tweeted “Today’s #PrivateLA clue is at @littlebrown. Rat all 5 clues this week to win the Private series. 3 winners, US+CN only. #FindtheHarlows” You go to @littlebrown twitter account and you find a tweet that says “Today we’re hosting @JP_Book’s #PrivateLA scavenger hunt! RT all 5 clues to win 1 of 3 Private series! US+CN only.” There was a clue in this tweet that says “‘How do you know they haven’t just gone off somewhere on vacation?’ Mo-bot asked. ‘Because TMZ or one of the gossip sites would have found them,’ Terry Graves said. #FindTheHarlows” You RT this tweet.

The next day, February 5, James Patterson tweeted “Head to @GrandCentralPub for today’s #PrivateLA clue. RT all 5 by Friday for a chance to win the Private series. 3 winners, US+CN only.” You go to @GrandCentralPub twitter account and you find a tweet that says “We have a clue from @JP_Books’s #PrivateLA scavenger hunt! RT all 5 clues to win 1 of 3 Private series! (US+CN only)” There was a clue in this tweet that was the same as before. You RT this tweet.

The next day, February 6, James Patterson tweeted “For today’s #PrivateLA clue, go to @HachetteBooks. Only one more clue left, RT all 5 to win a set of Private books. 3 winners, US+CN only” You go to @HachetteBooks twitter account and you find a tweet that says “Today we’re hosting @JP_Books’s #PrivateLA scavenger hunt. RT all 5 clues to win 1 of 3 Private series! US+CN only” There was no clue in this tweet. You RT this tweet.

The last day, February 7, James Patterson tweeted “Final #PrivateLA clue. If you’ve retweeted all fives clues you could win 1 of 3 sets of Private books. US+CN only. There was a clue in this tweet that says “There is someone who claims to have seen Jennifer and Thom in Mexico the day before yesterday, very, very drunk. #FindTheHarlows” you RT this tweet.

Anyways, since I love James Patterson’s books I retweeted all five of these tweets. Then today I get a tweet from James Patterson that says “Congratulations, you’ve won the Private series. Please DM your mailing address.” Since he wanted me to direct message him my address he had to follow me on twitter. I am so excited because he is following me on twitter and because I won the book series. This is only the third time I have won. I won the book ‘Twas the Jordan Knight Before Christmas’ from Jordan Knight. I’ve also won a Webkinz plush pet with code from Webkinz through a twitter contest. I’ve entered contests to win Secret Life of the American Teenager season 1 dvd, iPad 2 with Secret Life of the American Teenager season 1 episodes on it, iPod shuffle, a chance to be one of four girls serenaded onstage by 98 Degrees at the Package Tour concert in Chicago, iPad Air, iPhone 5C, 98 Degrees Package Tour merchandise, Sing-Off tour tickets, a set of Big Time Rush merchandise, airfare plus cabin to New Kids on the Block cruise, tickets from radio station to an NSYNC concert and name plate of Nick Lachey from dressing room door from when he was on one of the talk shows on TV but I never won. I played bingo when I was little at school’s gym but didn’t win anything. I was never lucky until now.

I just hope this book set will include the last Private book, Private L.A. that came out today.

Mikey and Nicholas

I was reading on a blog I found about someone who lost their dog. They person talked about how the dog became sick and was taken to the vet and was put to sleep. She also talks about how she was not there when they put her dog to sleep and how she felt so bad about that. She talks about how she felt afterwards without her dog around.

This got me said and I cried. I started thinking about my dog, Mikey. I remember back in 2009 when my cousin noticed that he had bumps near his pee thing and it was red. She also noticed he was lifting one of his leg when he went for walks. My mom and I took him to the vet and he was diagnosed with having lymphoma cancer. He only lasted about 2 weeks before he had to be put to sleep. I decided to be in the room with him when they put him to sleep and I was able to hold him after it was done. It was the saddest thing I had ever had to do but I know it was the best for him. He couldn’t eat or drink and just refused to get up. He was just too cold. Thinking about that day I know that he is in a better place than being here suffering. It would have made me feel better that he was here but it would have also made me sad seeing him in so much pain.

Thinking about him I just started crying even more. But then I looked at Nicholas, my current dog, lying on my bed and I am just so grateful to have him in my life. Whenever I’m said he always knows what to do to cheer me up and I know he will cheer me up right now. He may never replace Mikey but he always has a special place in my heart. Mikey was the love of my life and if he was still around he will still be the love of my life but since he is no longer with us Nicholas has become the love of my life.
